Broderick Thomas is a former NFL linebacker who played from 1989 to 1999. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Dallas Cowboys. He was a two-time All-American at the University of Nebraska and was selected as the 6th overall pick in the 1989 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his NFL career, he recorded 77.5 sacks and 10 interceptions. He was nicknamed "The Sandman" for his punishing hits on opposing players. After retiring from the NFL, Thomas has worked as a high school football coach and motivational speaker.
